RG-AP820(AR) Wi-Fi 6 Tri-Radio 3267 Mbps AR Series High-density Indoor AP
The AP is compliant with IEEE 802.11ax, IEEE 802.11ac Wave 2 and Wave 1, and IEEE 802.11n standards. With hardware-independent tri-radio design, the AP can provide an access rate of up to 3.267 Gbps. The ultra-fast wireless rate eliminates the bottleneck of performance.
The AP adopts Ruijie’s unique AI radio design. The additional intelligent radio card solves the problems of wireless network usage and security in the Wi-Fi 6 environment to bring a better network experience and real-time full-band security.
The design of the AP considers factors such as wireless network security, radio control, mobile access, QoS, seamless roaming, and expansion of Internet of Things (IoT) modules. With Ruijie access controllers (ACs) and RG-WIS, the AP can implement station (STA) data forwarding, security features, access control, and IoT application extension.
The AP supports local power supply and Power over Ethernet (PoE). You can select the power supply mode based on the onsite environment. The AP can be mounted on a wall or ceiling, applicable to indoor scenarios such as offices, classrooms, and corridors.
Product Features
Independent Multi-functional AI Radio
The RG-AP820(AR) is an AR series AP launched by Ruijie Networks. The AP is equipped with a hardware-independent intelligent radio card, which enhances user experience in a Wi-Fi 6 environment from multiple dimensions.
Wi-Fi 6 High-Quality Experience
The AI radio supports intelligent steering for Wi-Fi 6 clients. The AI radio identifies and steers low-speed STAs to the optimal radio card to release primary radio resources, ensuring excellent Wi-Fi 6 experience for various types of STAs on a wireless network.
Intelligent Security Guard
The AI radio can optimize and guard wireless networks through radio monitoring and security guard.
As an independent radio card, the AI radio can guard the security of 2.4 GHz and 5.0 GHz full-band in 24/7 mode without impairing wireless experience. This carries out radar scanning on the wireless networks to eliminate potential risks.
Multi-Functional Wired Ports
The RG-AP820(AR) provides the maximum wired access rate of 3 Gbps.
The AP provides three multi-functional ports:
Two Ethernet electrical ports with auto-negotiation provide a wired access rate of 1 Gbps, implementing high-speed transmission and conversion between wireless networks and wired networks.
One Ethernet electrical port with auto-negotiation can be connected to the Ruijie IoT modules and other modules to adapt the AP to more scenarios.
High-Speed Wireless Access, Power Saving, and Higher Reliability
1024-QAM High-Speed Access
The RG-AP820(AR) adopts a tri-radio design and complies with the next-generation Wi-Fi standard, IEEE 802.11ax. When three radios are enabled, the AP can provide a wireless access rate of up to 3.267 Gbps to bring high-speed access experience.
OFDMA High-Density User Access
The Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiple Access (OFDMA) compliant with the IEEE 802.11ax standard enables the RG-AP820(AR) to divide a WLAN channel into multiple narrower sub-channels, allowing each user to occupy one or more sub-channels. The AP can schedule multiple users to receive and send packets concurrently. This reduces user contention and backoff, shortens network latency, and improves network efficiency.
In a high-density deployment and access environment, the average rate of a user can be raised to four times that compliant with the IEEE 802.11ac standard.
Environment-Friendly Design and Lower Power Consumption
The RG-AP820(AR) incorporates various new energy saving technologies, including the single-antenna standby technology, dynamic multiple-input and multiple-output (MIMO) power saving technology, enhanced automatic power saving transmission technology, and packet-based power control technology. With these technologies as well as high-performance power supply design, the RG-AP820(AR) is energy-efficient while providing high-speed wireless access service.
Intelligent Identification
The RG-AP820(AR) can identify PCs and intelligent mobile terminals such as iOS and Android-based terminals.
Intelligent Local Forwarding
The RG-AP820(AR) integrates intelligent local forwarding technology of Ruijie Networks and eliminates the traffic bottleneck confronting ACs. You can pre-configure the forwarding mode of the RG-AP820(AR) on a Ruijie AC. Then, the AP determines whether to forward data through the AC based on the SSID or VLAN, or route data to a wired network for data exchange.
The local forwarding technology enables the AP to forward latency-sensitive data that requires real-time transmission through a wired network. This greatly reduces the traffic pressure on the AC and copes with heavy-traffic transmission of IEEE 802.11ac networks.
Abundant QoS Policies
The RG-AP820(AR) provides abundant QoS policies. It supports WLAN/AP/STA-based bandwidth limiting as well as Wi-Fi Multimedia (WMM) that defines priorities for different service data. Therefore, it implements immediate transmission of audio and video traffic and guarantees smooth multimedia services.
The multicast-to-unicast technology supported by the RG-AP820(AR) solves the problem of video freezing due to packet loss or long latency in Video on Demand (VoD) and other multicast applications on a wireless network, and enhances the experience in the use of multicast video services on wireless networks.
Comprehensive Security Policies and Ease of Use
User Access Authentication
The RG-AP820(AR) supports a wide range of user access authentication modes, including web authentication, IEEE 802.1X authentication, MAC Address Bypass (MAB) authentication, and local authentication. Complying with the standard network access control standard, the AP strictly defines a set of network access control policies in terms of user access, authorization, host compliance check, network behavior monitoring, and network attack prevention. These access control policies guarantee high network security for authenticated users.
Flexible Virtual AP Technology
With the virtual AP technology, the RG-AP820(AR) supports up to 32 virtual APs. Each radio card supports up to 16 virtual APs. The network administrator can separately encrypt and isolate subnets or VLANs with the same SSID, and flexibly configure the authentication mode and encryption mechanism for each SSID.
Comprehensive Wireless Security Policies
In cooperation with Ruijie integrated network management system and RG-WS series ACs, the RG-AP820(AR) provides a set of wireless security features, including the Wireless Intrusion Detection System (WIDS), radio interference tracking, rogue AP containment, anti-ARP spoofing, and DHCP protection, establishing a secure and reliable wireless network.
Multiple Easy-to-Use Authentication Methods
Working with Ruijie’s authentication system or multi-service AC, the AP supports multiple efficient and convenient authentication modes such as MAB authentication, SMS authentication, and QR code authentication.
MAB authentication frees the client from entering the username and password repeatedly. The username and password are required only upon the first login.
When a visitor accesses a wireless network through SMS authentication, an authentication page pops up, on which the visitor can register an account using the mobile number, and accesses the Internet using the username and password in the SM received.
QR code authentication is another convenient way for the visitor to access the Internet. After connecting to a wireless network, the visitor will receive a QR code prompt. They can access the Internet after being authorized by the visited employee. Visitor behaviors are directly associated with the visited employee to ensure higher security.
